Beverley Bettens, President

Beverley is thrilled that her life-long spiritual journey has carried her to a group of such inspiring and like-minded people. When she initially learned of The Hummingbird Assembly, she attended cautiously and has been in love with its format ever since.

She believes that her organizational skills and previous board and work experience with charitable groups and events will aid in her service as President. Resident of the Durham region, she is a Reiki II practitioner and World Groove Movement facilitator.

Bianca Lazarich, Vice President

Bianca Lazarich is a busy mom of 3 who came across The Hummingbird Assembly by trusting her intuition and trying something new to help heal herself. In her journey to wellness and beyond, with the help of partaking in the many discussions and becoming a part of the beautiful community that is Hummingbird Assembly she has bloomed into a better version of herself. She has since decided to become a more active member of the Assembly by joining the board.

Bianca is a Reiki practitioner, Certified in CCMBA, BEAM, Spiritual Healing and an Intuitive Oracle Card Reader. Her hopes of helping others who seek something more like she did are in her practices and in her own self care like attending gatherings as often as possible. She is so grateful for finding this group of people who are now more like family and close friends.

Ann Valentini, Secretary

From an early age, Ann enjoyed connecting with the Divine & challenging the teachings of the Catholic Church. When unable to sway the opinions of the teachers, she quietly went on to find her truth on her own. An avid reader, she read everything she could find about reincarnation & Edgar Cayce in her early teen years. The quest for spiritual knowledge continues. Ann practiced Numerology for many years, is a Reiki Master and she volunteers at Fife House, a community for those living with Aids in the City of Toronto.

Ann worked for 45 years in the corporate world, providing administrative support in the field of Advertising, Property Management and Homecare. An ardent supporter of Human Rights, she has served in a variety of capacities for her workplace union for 18 years ~ President, Vice President, Bargaining Committee, Pay Equity Committee, Bylaw Committee, and Health & Safety.

Ann enjoys the fellowship and enthusiastic discussions around Metaphysical topics at the Hummingbird Assembly.

Mervat Ignuta, Director

Mervat Ignuta first came across The Hummingbird Assembly when it was still in its infancy. Looking to expand her consciousness with others that share the same questions about life and awareness is what she had come to accomplish.

Being a healer as a Registered Massage Therapist and a Doula/Labour Support Provider, since 2007, she made the effortless decision to take the next step and become a Reiki Master.

She now sits on the Hummingbird Assembly’s Board of Directors to raise awareness about this organization. She hopes to reach more people who are looking to expand their spiritual network and those that are reaching their spiritual awakening.

Nancy W., Director

Nancy has been interested in the ‘WHY?’ of life since her teenage years. She went looking for alternative answers after 5 years of dealing with two serious illnesses. During those years she encountered some very ‘dark nights of the soul’. This started her awakening journey looking for metaphysical answers through books and websites and YouTube videos. She wished there were others with whom she could discuss these ideas. A casual conversation with the office manager at her doctor’s office lead her to ‘Hummingbird Assembly’. Her wishes were realized: a safe, fun, loving group of people to exchange thoughts about life, spirituality and metaphysical concepts. Nancy has been happily married to her husband for 34 years. Retired, she loves reading, music, movies, card making, Groove Body Movement and meeting new people of all ages.

Susan Scrimgeour, Treasurer

Susan Scrimgeour has a broad and varied history. Raised in a Catholic family, the forth child of 9, and daughter number 3 she has always been deeply spiritual. She entered the corporate world at the age of 18 and spent the following 35 years in various roles involving the Capital Markets in and on Bay Street, Toronto.

Retired from that life in 2006 she now spends her time building passion: following her dreams as a sister, friend, wife, mother, grandmother, WOMAN ! She brings her unique perspective and voice to the Hummingbird Assembly where she loves discussing Life with the empowered and awakening people who gather there. Susan is an Arbonne Independent Consultant and a Reiki Practitioner and she volunteers teaching exercise class with Seniors.
