My awakening actually began in my teenage years when I struggled with alcoholism within my family. Ironically my girlfriend & I would go parking to drink and chat for 6+ hours. Oprah was the discussion leader. Our family values were my main guide in life. Family home cooked meals every night, a doting Mother, an outdoorsman Father, and although I wasn’t disciplined often, when I was, it stuck. Fast forward to 2013 when lost my “purpose”. It was the job I had held for 10 years actually, with only 8 days notice. I feel as though I did a great job, was well respected and went above and beyond. But that didn’t matter. All the unfairness came crashing down and I felt wronged and lost. I reached out to a spiritual meetup group. Still unsure why. I think it was curiosity. As long as I can remember following my intuition has always been a part of me. This small group of folks acknowledged me, and supported me to trust the process. It was so simple yet profound and I will be forever grateful. In doing so I have focused on a new purpose, a successful business and have more joy and compassion in my life than I ever had before. I am awake. Everything I do is on purpose. The Hummingbird Assembly is my Volunteer role. I found an opportunity to support something that may bring about these same shifts for others who are seeking them. Janet...
